Mt. Princeton Hike Report (August 2004)
In August 2004, I hiked to the summit of Mt. Princeton. The most common hiking route is to take Mt. Princeton Road (a dirt road) up to the trailhead. I parked just below the radio towers and hiked up the road to the trailhead, which many people do. Ideally, if you have 4-wheel drive, I would suggest driving to the radio towers adn beginning your hike there. |
The trailhead is at this point. If you walk all the way to the end (as I did), you've gone too far! |
Near this beginning of the trailhead, one will almost constantly have a great view of the Mt. Princeton summit ... standing rather far away. |
Reaching a ridge less than a mile from the Mt. Princeton summit, I had a really nice view of Mt. Antero and the mountains to the south. |

At the summit! |
