Cottonwood Pass Photo Gallery - From My Drive On August 27, 2006

I took an early afternoon drive to Cottonwood Pass
today and while it was pleasant and in the 70's in Buena Vista,
the temperature at Cottonwood Pass felt more like 40,
and with the windchill, it was probably in the 20's or 30's.
Here are a couple of photos that showed some snowfall on some of the higher mountains. |

Remarkably, there was a Cottonwood Pass Century Ride happening.
Riders started in downtown Salida, peddled to Buena Vista,
then trekked west to Cottonwood Pass. That's a 50 mile ride one way before they returned downhill
all the way to Salida. I respect these bikers! You can see my photos of my bike ride up Cottonwood Pass

This was the first time that I saw people selling Native American jewelry. Looks interesting! |

After seeing those bikers, I felt even more lazy having driven up. Oh well! :p) |
