Cottonwood Pass Photos (An Evening In Colorado's Mountains)
June 13, 2006 - It was about 5:30 p.m. and I was itching to get out of my cabin.
So I took a drive up to Cottonwood Pass to get out, enjoy the scenery and maybe reflect a bit.
Adjacent Photo: The "standard view" looking east from Cottonwood Pass. Among those mountains is
Jones Mountain,
a Colorado 13er that I hiked in 2009.
I have been tinkering around a bit with photographing the
sky. ;)
The San Isabel National Forest sign was standing completely
on its own with no snow touching it! :)
I went for a short hike on the Gunnsion County side. Here's a view of the
Cottonwood Pass sign with the immediate ridge to the left and the unnamed 12,500 foot peak to the right.
You can view my hike of that mountain here: Continental Divide Trail.
A few trees that likely take a beating from the west to east winds.
One token shot of me. Nothing beats living in Colorado's mountains!
Colorado high altitude flowers.
