Past the Denny Creek Trailhead parking lot, the road quickly
became fairly snowy and icy in many parts along Chaffee County Road 306, en route to Cottonwood Pass.
A very pretty, silvery and snowy shot of the southern side of Jones Mountain.
Cottonwood Pass was being pounded with
snow with fiercely cold winds
when I arrived. The strong winds were so cold that my lungs felt in shock from breathing in such harsh
and cold weather. Visibility, as you can see, was fairly poor. Ah, but if you love
skiing and winter sports, I guess you might like all this! ;)
Facing west at Cottonwood Pass.
Yikes Look at all the snow and ice facing the east side of the pass.
I did run out of my car and snapped a photo of the snowy frost
on this San Isabel National Forest sign.
